I just cannot get Prime95 to run the BLEND test for more than 20 seconds before one or all of the cores fail. Yet it will run the small and large ftts for hours.

The i3 is good for 4 to 4.2ghz on 1.3vCore.

I'm assuming I should set the dRAM voltage to either 1.64 or 1.66v as the gigabyte board doesn't do 1.65v

When I set the SPD manually to 1600mhz and 9-9-9-24 2T, it still boots perfectly well but CPUid shows it as either 10-9-9-24 2Tor 11-9-9-24 2T

Should I be messing with the QPI voltage or anything else to make this work?

Also, I assume I should now run Memtest to be sure but if you can help with any other BIOS settings fist that woudl be great.

************ UPDATE *************

I just went into the BIOS and set "load optimised defualts"... I left everythng as it was and it still failed the blend test on Prime95... WTF? Here the RAM is set to 1333mhz and is given timings of 8-9-9-24 1T

What should I be doing in the BIOS to get this sucker to work properly or is the Blend test fubar'd?

Cheers a milliion for all your help guys!

If even with stock settings you are getting errors, it would suggest possibly faulty RAM. I had a similar problem with a triple channel set of XMS3 DDR3.

Run MemTest86+. If you do have a faulty stick, that'll show it.

You could always use the memory test that comes with Ubuntu or some other linux version. That'll obviously be bootable straight away.

Cheers Memphis,

Really appreciate your help.

I ran Memtest86+ and got loads of fails in dual channel mode on test 6. I then ran the dimms separately and test 6 passes 4 runs on one of the dimms but gets loads of ails on the other. The RAM must be fubar'd on one of the sticks so it's RMA time.
