The core looks big, but I think it's a little smaller than GT200, but since they've blacked out so many of the parts that make a good size comparison it's difficult - basically I went with how much space above/below the core there was in relation to the tops of the DVI connectors (but then they look different on GT200 so :confused:

)

I don't think the 200 cards have much in the way of third party cooler support.

but whats the point in the PCB hole? surely its going to affect SLI cards together?

5,000 worldwide is that a joke or something and people on here were moaning about ati when the 5 series launched i doubt i will see the same people having a go this time as they had a reason to be biased and attack back then. I doubt that will even fill preorders much less allow anywhere to have stock.

ha I like how they black barred the power connectors but havn't black barred the metal pins connected into the pcb. It sort of looks like the reference design for the 295 if I'm not mistaken.

Should be enough to drive down prices of Ati cards!
It's gunna be pay-off time for all the people waiting 6 months for £20-40 off a 5870, it sounded such a good plan as well.

We should be seeing 5870's for £170 - 190 before long...

If the prices floating about are right for the 470/480 I don't see any reason why ATI should decrease prices.

Shouldn't do. It looks like the design of the GTX295 dual PCB cooler. Maybe they all have it, so when they bring out the dual PCB version of the card

, less manufacturing costs.

Or it is just for additional airflow from both sides of the card.

I was more expecting the refresh/new ATI dx11 cards that ATI said they would show to combat fermi would combat the price rises at least

Maybe il pick up a 2nd hand 5800 series from some crazy Nvida fan though
