It stinks of air freshener - it really isn't nice. It's very strong - probably put in my the dealer to cover the smell of smoke.

Anyway - because I don't like artificial smells - my idea is just to leave it in the car port every night with the windows open. We live in the middle of nowhere so security isn't an issue. It is an open sided car port so the wind will blow through but it is well covered so it shouldn't get wet. 7 days of this should do the trick do you reckon?

Leaving it open will result in a damp interior. It's damp at night, believe me...even in the summer I've had a damp car when I've left the roof open. :p

Just leave it - the smell will go away soon enough

Febreeze will neutralise smells in the fabric, but a week of use and it will be gone anyway

Sodium bicarbonate (aka baking powder) would do the trick, as like charcoal it absorbs odours. Leaving a bowl of bi-carb in the car for a few days should clear up the smell, however if its really bad just sprinkle it over the seats and carpet then leave for a day and hoover off :)
