MD looking into Aston DB9, other options available?

Good shout, an excelent alternative to something like a DB9, given the obvious similarilities between the two cars. If I was after a big GT like a DB9 the Noble (Which model are you thinking of?) would be on my shortlist for sure.

As far as I think, I'm not sure there is much else available at this pricepoint. Early Gallardo perhaps? Not quite as GT as the DB9 though, more a V8 Vantage rival.

Maserati of some description? Gransport perhaps?

You do know that some people do not look at buying things the same way you do, with a criteria list that they need to fill to buy the car or any other object for that matter.

Like myself, I want next a 2 door sports car. But if I saw a coupe or a hatchback I really liked I would buy it.

Doesn't always have to be the same as one given example of a car.

My choice would be the DB9, only because I dream of one day owning an Aston.

I think its probably fair to say a DB9 buyer and a Noble buyer have very different wants in a car.

One is a cheap looking, plastic flimsey car built in a shed which offers absolutely stunning performance and handling to a very very niche market.

The other is a finely crafted exotic luxury V12 Coupe with a hand stitched leather lined cabin..

A noble is more a track car whereas a DB9 is a cruiser - they are completely different

Conti GT
Flying Spur
Arnage
V8 Vantage
V8 Vantage Roadster
SL55 AMG
F360
F575
Maser QP
Maser Granturismo
Gallardo
Diablo
997 Turbo

Lots of good alternatives have been mentioned already. For me only the Granturismo and Bentley Conti GT would have the same cachet, although the SL/CL and XKR are perfectly good alternative GTs.

In a 60K two door GT/sports car vein, other cars he might like to think about include the 911 and M6

I'd love a Maserati. The GranTurismo looks amazing and they're at the top end of the budget.
Probably rarer than a DB9 too.

This is probably the alcomahol talking, but I swear I'm dead on with the last bit of my earlier post.

'97 Bentley Turbo R
Power to spare - check
All the luxury you'd need - check
Ability to not explode when it gets within twelve miles of a corner - check
Doesn't make owner look like a complete **** - check

It's either that, or spend some more and buy a Bristol.

*Ducks sarcasm spade coming towards the face*

At the top end of the budget you can get an Audi R8. Should be able to extend the warranty as well.

I don't know if i'd fancy a 10 year old supercar at £40-60k like some of these other suggestions. :o
