The Official Motorola Milestone Thread

I lovee this phone! Having a smartphone is awesome. Prefering Handcent to Chomp for SMS, though.

SyncMyPix is a godsend, no need to manually grab facebook photos! There is a 2.0 version available on the net :)

Perfect. Absolutely perfect. I missed proper soft keyboard. Stock keyboard is just dumb. Tried swype but it just fails on quick capitalisation. HTC keyboard is sooo much better. I would love to see cootek's keyboard port (loved the swipe button for alternative character feature).
 
Grr. My phone like apparently many others has suddenly lost the ability to auto rotate the homescreen. I liked this behavior and there is no way to get it back :/
 
Can't be bothered to trall through 24 pages of this thread to get my question answered, so here goes:

Does anyone use this as their mp3 player? I currently have an 80gb ipod classic, the battery life holds up for ~2-3 days of commuting, how does mp3 playback affect the battery of the milestone? What's the media player like? Easy to use?

What is gaming like on it? I've got the option to get a ipod touch when I get my droid, as I'm going from iphone to droid, I have a few games bought which I enjoy playing, MGS:Touch, flightpath, NFS Undercover etc.. Or shall I not get the touch, and go for something I can resell for more?
 
I wasn't going to get it primarily for music, I was going to get it and hopefully be able to look less like a gadget infused geek and more like a normal™ person.

Same as what I do! The majority of my commute is spent underground so its not really a problem. Its just a ballache remembering to switch it to and from plane mode. Hopefully there will be a fix as the US droid doesnt have this issue.

Ah, thank you and neoboy259 for the replies. That's a bit of a disappointment, I was prepared to go for the phone but if it can't play music acceptably then it's not good enough for my uses.

Its a shame really. Its a ****-poor fault that shouldnt exist, how rudimentary is MP3 playback these days?

Otherwise everything else about the handset is superb. And to think I didnt really like it much at first!
 
Anyone else's handset going into the PIN entry screen randomly? Mine does it every two days or so, no biggie but I might replace it as obviously I dont know whats causing it!
