That means it's only available in other countries (probably North America for now). It will probably arrive here on a Friday sometime.

P.S. It uses the dreaded new "always connected" DRM from Ubisoft.

Because the new DRM negates the need for the DVD to be in the drive, just buy it from an online store (for less than Steam will sell it anyway). I've ordered the collector's edition from some book shop, for around £30.

I thought that although it was released yesterday in the US we don't get it until May in uk?

The place I ordered from suggests tomorrow, although it could be wrong I guess as they're not the most reliable of gaming places. However, the UBI site seems to suggest March 4th onwards.

You're right, not May. However most of the normal pc games sites state 5th March for uk release.

Ubisoft are not making Assassins Creed2 or Silent Hunter5 available on Steam in the UK according to Steam mods!

Why on earth not? That is most bizarre.

EDIT: It appears there is some sort of exclusivity at retail with play.com. Or it could be they are blocking £ sales in order to charge the € customers artificially high prices and circumvent UK steam gifting.

So now it's buggy, has a pretty awful DRM implementation and can't even be bought through steam in the UK although it's available elsewhere.

Way to go UBISOFT, are you actually trying to avoid making money on this?

They're French - they must still harbour ill feelings from the Battle of Waterloo. Yves Guillemot's great-great-great-great grandfather must have been killed by the British or something. :D
