surround sound headset or stereo ?

I bought these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-030-SL never really considered plantronics as i did have few of their cheaper literation's and were not that good, but i am sure £50 Plantronics headset will be good.

I love my Medusa head set, its comfy, well adjustable even for my big head :)
Sound quality is fantastic.

I like inline volume controls that let you adjust volume to different speakers indenpendently Front, Centre, Rear and Bass vibration volume.

I would certainly recommend them, but cant compare them to anything else to give you more in depth reason why.

Im always wary of the USB headsets, responsible for lots of audio lag particulary in terms of voice applications, nothing beats a dedicated sound card and a medusa or turtle beach headset in my view.

They are stereo headphones connect via USB and use software CMSS-3D to provide positional audio - works well enough but you'd be better off getting a proper creative X-Fi (not xtremeaudio) enabling CMSS-3D and using a good pair of sennheiser or goldring headphones.

If you want proper positional audio for gaming tho without spending too much money these headphones provide an easy way to get proper CMSS-3D support and sound quality is tuned for gaming, tho IMO a little lacking in music, etc. (bass is too boomy, high end vague and unsubstantial tho mid range deffinition is respectable.)
