just out of interest what would this card play?

my specs are: (got my computer 12 months ago)

Windows Vista SP2 (32bit)

Intel® Core™ 2 Quad-Core Q8200 Processor (2.33GHz, 4MB cache, 1333MHz FSB)

3072MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024 + 2x512]

i use a samsung HDTV for my display at 1920x1080p

could i play the likes of COD: mw2 at simular levels to my xbox360 ?

i'd rather keep the 1920x1080p res and have lower AA setting levels ect.

PS- Could i have a crack at crysis or am i dreaming ? lol

I would say that card would be fine with all current titles on the market, of course keep the AA off on the demanding ones like crysis of which I think you could play on mostly high settings [not very high] and with it being a 1GB model that will help with texture heavy games. If your CPU is at stock, I would suggest you overclock it a little, 2.3Ghz is slow.

And yeah MW2 will look way better on your PC than the 360, yet will play smoother.

on 1920 x 1080 that card would struggle with a lot of games, my mate had same card, couldnt play titles like, mirrors edge, fallout3, crysis, unreal 3, gta4, bioshock 2, avp. but it will play codmw2 on normal settings. will play fallout 3 too with everything on normal. no aa etc.

Unless you are going to use more than 2GB of the RAM, I would say you'd better off taking those 2x512MB RAM out. With a 32-bit OS, the chances are you RAM usages will not be over over 2GB. The non-matching 2x512MB RAM may actually affect the performace of your 2x1GB RAM running dual-channel.

Rubbish. Every game youve mentioned there played very well on an 8800GTX ( pretty much same card ) except crysis which had to be set to medium. It would handle bioshock 2 very nicely indeed.

+1, with no AA the card will handle most games easily.

Yea, my mates 8800gtx snacks on those games as well

The 250 should be fine as long as you don't mind dropping some eye candy if needs be
