Really dodgy Fermi vs 5870 benchmarks

If they mean the 380 = the 480 then its the top end. The 470 is the mid range iirc though if they are still using the old names seems pretty dodgy tbh.

I dunno about the gtx470 - its not exactly the part that was originally intended as the 360 - shader clocks are way down compared to what they were playing with back when I was saying that, but SPs seem to be up a bit.

Those benchmarks seem somewhat dodgy at best and dirt2 is hardly a good basis for overall performance so who knows.

Meh...
Looking for some reach bechmarks ;)

But if 480 isn't better than the 5870, waste of time waiting over the hype of these cards anyway.

Really? Rroff and others have been saying the gtx470 should be 5% quicker than the 5870 for ages, not way slower.

My gut feeling, based on reading all the fermi reports, is that the 5870 will sit inbetween the 470 and 480 with not much in it either way. These bechmarks of course need to be taken with a small salt mine.

Well we have had pictures of the cards and boxes but still no real benchmarks i honestly cannot see fermi destroying the 5xxx series or by now there wouldn't be anyone in the world that didn't know about it and the fact other stuff is leaking out makes me think they are not holding back info on a wonder card they have up their sleeve. None of this is looking good i was really hoping that a stormer would come out from nvidia hit ati a bit who would then lower prices but right now i cannot see any reason for a price drop maybe the opposite.
