Anyone here with a set up of an aluminium keys MBP (previous model) connected to the current Apply 24” LED cinema display?

I realised that the aluminium keys MBP has mini DVI output and the 24” CD has mini DisplayPort and you can’t connect them up directly. However, I lead to believe that the Atlona AT-DP 200 DVI to Mini Displayport adapter would convert the signals and do the trick!

Anyone would like to confirm or otherwise and any comments regarding the picture quality!

Thanks

Probably not worth it unless you want the kind of useful features the cinema display comes with now such as being able to charge your macbook at the same (over the cinema displays power cable). Also from what I've seen, its a cracking display and it is a glossy screen so that may be a pro or a neg for you...

Plenty of decent monitors out there though so I'd have a look around and compare/research them. :)

Personally i hate glossy displays.

Supposedly they do not give you an accurate color representation nor can they be calibrated correctly.

Ive had a 23" Apple CD for about 5 years and its honestly the best monitor i have ever used.

They can be had 2nd hand for a reasonable price now days.

Well for general home use etc, my unibody Macbook is more than fine. Awesome for a laptop actually - but if I was using it for job/work/creative stuff than Id fork out extra for the 30inch or look at other displays. :o
