Cheque Name

Just received a cheque but name is not written out fully so it reads like:

Pay Mr C Smith

Does it have to be written like:

Pay Mr Charlie Smith

My bank account name is Mr Charlie Smith

it's fine, I used to work for a company that dealt with clearing cheques through the system and quite regularly saw huge cheques with no names on at all. Unfortunately they had already cleared so I couldn't put my name on it and pay them back in

What, people actually pay those oversized lottery cheques into their banks? I thought it was just for show! Well I never!

you can sign a small value check like £50 less anything you like. I.e mickey mouse or what ever you fancy banks don't tend to check all the cheques as it's too
time consuming and more cost effective just to put em through

there's a special wide teller window for them and they have an extra large cashiers stamp. the big cheque, cheque book they probly keep in the safe must weigh a ton
