I've seen people wearing sunglasses which look pretty good on them and then suddenly someone I'm with will say they look like an idiot and that the sunglasses don't suit them!? This has confused me, what am I missing!?

What do you look for in a pair of sunglasses when you buy them? (I'm talking about £50+ pairs) I always thought it was how they fit on to your face. As in how well they 'moulded' with your features. I thought it would make sense to choose sunglasses depending on your facial features, chiseled, round or whatever.

What do you think?

Buying any glasses I think they have to fit your face as you said, so for me, the bigger and wider frames just don't work. The colour is often important too, because the reddish or blueish tints make me look like a cross dresser...

Ones that at least suit my facial features and sadly not a lot do but i did find a pair of oakley ones a few yrs ago when i was in Canada that suited me...good pair of glasses with polarised lenses...cost me about $350 though:eek::p but well worth imho.

Use Ray Bans rectangular ones here. I didn't buy them because of brand, they fit my face and suit me, so job done :) paid about £80 for them

What do I look for in a pair of sunglasses? The O on the hinge.

Actually that's not strictly true, both my pairs of sunglasses are Oakleys but that's because I think they fit me reasonably well and I like the look of them. They meet all the relevant safety standards (and usually far exceed them) so that covers my requirements.
