Numberplates Stolen

Nutters.

I remember driving along with an exhousemate once. He couldn't stop laughing at one point ( I suppose fair play to him) because rolling past him at a petrol station was his parent's plate on a very different car.

Had the front and back plates taken of the Pug 207 Gti in Glasgow, called the police and they were appropriately unconcerned with my worry.

I wish they'd taken the whole car, actually, and not just the plates :(

This happens to my cousin in Canada pretty much all the time.

She bought new plates that had this fancy looking frame around them, a few days later, they were stolen. So she replaced them, a few days later....yup you guessed it, they were stolen.

The police don't care though

That's because she clearly didn't involve this good chap.

I remember on Fifth Gear they had a feature showing various anti cloning and security devices. They featured a set of plates that when attempted to pull off the car would shatter and therefore render them useless.

I can't remember where or how to get them but might be worth a look?

oooh he's cute. ahhhhh he's one of my old crushes

but yeah wrong side of Canada :p Mounties are in the west, cousin is in the East

Lead_Head i read that as "the car would shatter" not "if removed from the car, would shatter" :p I think i might look into these anti theft ones

Also stealing them means you can match to your car colour/make etc and doesnt leave a paper trail.

KaHn
I meant knocking up some plates of that reg, i.e. cloning them rather than just pinching them which obviously flags them up as stolen.

I wouldn't have thought much paper trail would be involved in making your own plates, if it's still possible to get the materials to do so.
