A per title my viewing pleasure has been increased upon installing a 'proper' version of windows.
Or am I smoking crack?

Maybe Windows 7 RTM has newer video drivers for your card than Windows 7 RC, and/or updated color profiles etc.... if not then check what you're smoking.

Check in the nVidia control panle and make sure Digital vibrance is low. I think this happened when I installed Win 7 a while back.

Maybe different graphics drivers. I thought the same, my mozilla icon was brighter and colours were more vibrant. It had installed/added some different colour profile. My mates version of Vista home has it. My Windows 7 Pro looks normal

Perhaps something went funny during the RC install and caused the lower vibrance. You just never noticed until now! :p

Or maybe you have someone else's eyes in today...:D

If you've had the RC installed a while it will fade over time after repeated reboots. A good way to counteract this is to run the PC cooler by underclocking, better system fans or just using it less.

Gonna have to redo lagom screen calibration again, I probs lost my old nvidia control panel monitor tweaks.

Still, it's like i've upgraded my monitor:D

When I upgraded my Macbook Pro from OSX 10.5 to 10.6 it did a similar thing, although it looked washed out and had a blue-ish tint. I think officially it was a "feature" and not a bug.
