Hargreaves comeback confirmed

Never been that impressed with Hargreaves to be honest so the news doesn't excite me and (I might stand corrected here) 25 league appearances in the 2.5 season his been with Man U? Appalling really, belongs to Woodgate club!

I've just got that suspicion that he's finished to be honest, to take so long to get fit again I can see him pulling up again at some point and being out for another 6-12months.

Whether he is fit or not he shouldnt make the world cup squad due to lack of football. I doubt he'll be able to get any form and much match time any way

With the midfielders England have at their disposal, I can't really see Hargreaves replacing any in the WC squad tbh. Especially with the short time he'll have to impress neither.

he hasnt played in ages, yet in fifa 2010 he is one of man utd's best players and he was in 09 as well. i seriously dont understand what they rate players on?

If he hasn't played any games, surely they have to rate him on the previous season/games he played?

For his sake, he shouldn't be playing regularly enough to make it into the World Cup squad. On form he's the best DM we have, by far, but I doubt he'll find that level any time soon. To get him back to it, Ferguson is going to have to treat him very carefully for the next few months. Lots of reserve games, and cameos at the end of "safe" league matches.

The question is, can United afford to wait for him?

What he's meant to do then? Just not get a year long injury?

It's hardly his fault

All I do know is his involvement was vital to us winning both the league and Champions League during the 07/08 season and if he can get back to first team action this season could be vital for us as well

Just sucks that this news comes on the same day that Owen has been ruled out for the rest of the season

Very true, England quite frankly is the last thing he needs to concern himself with

He should concentrate on getting some match action between now and May for us whether it be in the reserves or in the first team, have a well deserved rest over the summer and have a good pre-season

An argument could be made that playing for England could bring him on for next season but after how long he has been out I dont think he should be burdened with too much too soon

As for Man Utd I think any involvement he could have will be a bonus but we've certainly never relied on him

There is no chance he will or should be involved with England this season. I just want him back and fit, it's going to be a long process.

Hargreaves will never be fit. He's always been a crock and with his body constantly adapting to protect old injuries, he'll pick up more and more niggly injuries.

He wont get the games to be considered for England. I think Ferguson will be looking at how he performs between now and the end of the season and then get a pre season under his belt with a view to be fully fit for next year assuming he steers clear of injuries.

As for the W/C squad then based on his lack of football then no. A fully fit Hargreaves then yes, twice on a sunday. He is technically, tactically and athletically streets ahead of Barry.
