350Z Good Idea?

How on earth are you going to afford a 11k car on only £1100 a month?

Im intrigued becuase im on a similar wage when im abck on full time work in between uni semesters.

What kind of finance are you getting?

i live at home! no way i can afford a 11k car. Im slumming it in a 2001 seat ibiza.

Although im only taking £550 a month home now becuase im part time with uni.

Would people in my situation seek a loan for a good car? Or just buy outright? Ive been drilled from an early age to only spend what you have,

A yellow 350z overtook me on the dragstrip. sorry, i mean tamar bridge tolls, anyway, it went past me like i was going backwards and i was WOT in 2nd.

Pity his friend in a nova couldnt get past either of us :D

A mate of mine has one of these. He's just had to pay for discs, pads, plugs and a new silencer at 70k, came to £1400 with a service. Could you afford that, if it came at a bad time?

If not look elsewhere...

To top it off his starter motor has just blown and it needs new tyres. I know this stuff happens on all cars, but on something 'quick' rather than fast you'd be looking at less than half of what he's just forked out

It's almost as if he had an 200 odd brake advantage or something.

He was ripped off then, seems too expensive to me. I had discs and pads and a P3 service with plugs (most expensive one) for around £800 iirc. So you are saying £600 for a silencer??

Sure, performance cars can be expensive to run. You will always get "my friend spent £XXXX on running it" and "doesn't cost me a penny to run". The one thing to remember is that when you are looking for a high performance car, just be prepared to fork out for when it goes wrong. I personally have experience just the one year of ownership, haven't regretted a penny spent on the experience :)

If we are being pedantic, yes. My point still stands. Although Tax, MOT, insurance still had to be thought of in those months, hence 1 years "own"ership.

They're about to fall into the £400 tax bracket too I think.

Not sure why he paid that much, maybe he was done - think it was the GT one with the Brembo brakes if that makes any difference (probably not £600 :D). Regardless, not cheap, I know all cars can be pricey to run but it's best not to go in blind, especially at 23...
