O2 iPhone Simplicity 20

Cloud Wi-Fi access
Unlimited data usage
Visual voicemail

£20

Yes, you also have to buy the iphone cost at £349. If you do the calculations you will see that both contract and simplicity tarrif the prices are NEARLY the same. Theres one major difference, your not tied in to the contract!!!!

If people want decent minuits, not tied into a contract and can offord £349 upfront payg works out better for more minuits/texts. If you can't offord the £349 upfront the only option is contract...

- Here are some calculations I have done as follow -
* - includes unlimited visual voicemail, unlimited data, unlimited WiFi Bolt Ons

I gave O2 a quick call yesterday to talk to them about this. I was paying £45 a month, for 1200 mins and 500 texts. I kept going well over my texts, so included a £7.50 bolt on for 500 more texts. Ive never used more than 400 mins any month, so called them, and changed to a £35 a month tariff, which gives me all the usual, but 600 mins and unlimited texts. Couldnt be more perfect for me, as thats the contract I was on with them before I got the Iphone. And now saving £17.50 a month, plus all the extra I spent on texts a month.

EDIT: Forgot to say im on the 24 month contract

Did you change your existing contract, or take out a new one i.e. commit to a further 24 months?

My contract doesn't run out until June, but I'm in EXACTLY the same situation with overpaying for a texts bolt on.

Hmm, wonder if they'll let me upgrade to the texts, been on the £45/month one since October. Probably a long shot though..

Here's my situation:

I have an 24 month iPhone 3G contract that still has about 16 months left on it. I got a 30% discount working for Alton Towers, so I got the £35 a month contract for £24.50. This didn't have unlimited texts, so I added the £7.50 bundle bringing my monthly total to £32.

Obviously, the new £35 tariff has the unlimited texts included. Do you think they'd let me swap to it and still keep my 30% price reduction saving myself £7.50 a month on the text bundle?

Nope, I just changed my existing contract. That was the first question I asked, was to whether I wou;d have to start my contract again, and they said nope, I just have the same amount left on my contract as I would have done anyway!

Just so everyone knows,

O2 are letting all existing Iphone customers upgrade or downgrade their contract for free, without taking out a new contract. However many months you have left on your contract is just what youll have left when it changes. This means, that on most tariffs, you can get unlimited texts for free paying the same amount as you currently are. If you want to drop some minutes, you can, and pay less. Also if you have a text bolt on, you can happily drop that and gett he unlimited texts, no hassle at all. O2 had it sorted for me in about 3 minutes. Just call 2302 and speak to an advisor. Tell them what you want, and it will get done for when your next bill date is.

Do they allow you to downgrade even if you have only just signed into the contract?
IE, not wait 9 months?

I just spoke to them and they would only let me drop down one tariff and that was due to the fact that I had already been on my current contract for 9 months.

Well popped into the o2 store in York this lunchtime. Was going to upgrade to the 3gs 16gb over an 18month contract £30/m. Then got told the handset price was £249, as per the booklet. I queried this with the fact it's £179 on the website. I got told that it was for the 3G version only not the 3gs.

Needless to say i promptly left got back to the office and ordered it over the phone with o2 with the handset cost at £179.

Are people really stupid enought to walk into a shop and pay an extra £70 by not checking around? The guy seemed adament (sp) that it was £250. Is this the case nationally or did i just come across a dumb employee that only can read a booklet?

My guess would be hes not dumb at all and making himself £70 for each iPhone he sells.

But yeah your probably right, lol

So I'm on the O2 £45, 1200 mins/500 texts, will they make it 900 mins/unlimited texts, or just give the unlimited texts instead, making it 1200/unlimited?
