im looking to buy a new wardrobe. my budget is £150.

im looking for something study and value for money. ideally 3 door, with draws and shelfs.

ive looked usual places such as argos, ikea. but when i read the review of some i get put off buying. like being flimsy etc

ive also look on flebay but im reluctant because of guarantee etc

can anyone recommend anything.

thanks

lol@ flimsy what do you expect for £150 exactly, just built an ikea tall chest of draws at £65 and does the job and looks nice enough, all the prebuilt stuff is well over £400 plus delivery charges, high end stuff like laura ashley £800 plus.

Maybe you could buy some seccond hand stuff on ebay but then you'd neeed to hire a van have someone to help etc.

I have an Ikea wardrobe and its not particularly flimsy, certainly not had any problems in the last year.

well ive seen the ikea kullen wardrobe for £80. which i quiet like

i guess im going to have to go in store and see for myself

I agree with the ikea idea, cheap but generally well constructed, if there's one close to you go check some stuff out and buy it there if possible, also if I remember correctly their website delivery price is a rip off.

I got a solid oak wardrobe off freecycle surprisingly, some woman just wanted rid of it as it was her dads and he passed away.
It was so so so tatty, a few hours work with some sandpaper and it was as good as new.

Second hand is the way forward unless you want to pay massive amounts for furniture. Or get crappy flatpack rubbish that is built to last maybe 1 - 2 years. Solid wood will last you a lifetime.

Ebay, gumtree, freecycle.
Just don't bother with flatpack MDF rubbish.

What on earth do you people do to your furniture or are you just incapable of putting flat pack stuff together properly? I moved into my house over 6 years ago now and as I was a first time buyer on a limited budget I ended up getting quite a bit of furniture from Ikea and some from Argos.

In that time none of the furniture has had any problems at all and all of it is in the same condition as when it was purchased.

Personally, I prefer Ikea furniture to Argos and the Ikea stuff seems perfectly acceptable in terms of rigidity. Looks a lot better than cheap pine furniture too.
