1Ghz 5870 18% faster than GTX480 in Heaven with Tessellation off!

tbh tho the GF100 strong point (in theory) is 16x AF, 8x AA w/ DX11 features fired up, if it can't pull its weight there then it really is a colossal failure.

Yep this is all I'm interested in too. It's all very well having uber framerates, but it's the minimum framerates that you notice the most.

Supposedly, however minimum frame rate can be skewed by the FPS dipping for a fraction of a second, once.

Am i the only one getting sick and tired of hearing about blah blah's performance in one synthetic benchmark. I couldn't care less if both ati and nvidia ran the damn thing at 1,000 fps real world games are where people want to see the performance and if there is any difference between whatever cards. All this uniengine thing is getting a bit sad and pathetic now with so many people pinning their flag to a pole based on it. My biggest prediction for fermi lanuch day plus two weeks is so many people who claim to be knowledgeable on these things looking complete planks when heaven turns out to be as good an indicator of performance as the a chocolate fireguard for keeping you safe.

I am as well i will wait until it is out

AFAIK tessellation is the only DX11 feature used in that version of the benchmark that can't run under DX10, all the rest of the features should run fine on DX10 just not as good performance...

^^^
Guess that translates to you don't 'actually' know, and therefore shouldn't be compared, as you had the same reasoning comparing Heaven 1.0 with 1.1

pretty funny fanboy stuff, so you turn off the benchmarks biggest feature, overclock your card by 18% and its faster than a gtx 480!

pretty much the same as saying run the infamous batman game turn phsyx on and a 8800gt is faster than a 5870

True, but it's that fraction of a second that is noticable whilst playing games.

I'm waiting for Fermi to launch and some proper benchmarks to come out before deciding what will be my next card(s). Although it's looking more and more likely that it'll be one from the red team.

Thank god i decided not to wait for Fermi and bought a 5870, I've been playing all my games 1920x1200 max detail for the last few months without issue while some have been getting by on older cards just to see what Fermi will be like. Just give it up guys

Lol! they are probably feeling pretty sore about it...:D

Just give it up guys

aww shucks uz got me

<raises hands on the air>

:p

Seriously there's nothing to give up, for those that waited they are very close to seeing some real in game comparisons then we will know for sure, it's hardly like waiting hurt anyone, it's not like there's really been any graphically intensive games out recently bar Crysis.

Seeing as prof does not have the resources to run in DX11 just DX10. I ran in DX10 and gained 15-20 fps at the dragon, so there is more going on in DX11 than tessellation .
