hi all, ive got an old mac g4 and wondering could i put on windows home server and turn the mac into a server?

could i jsut install whs as a fresh install?

Strictly speaking osX cant be installed on pc hardware because of the bios, but look hard enough and you can find the part to make it work.

Try hard enough and you can make pretty much anything pc/mac work, if you're willing to put the time and money into it.

No, no, no. The only reason modern versions of OS X "work" on a PC is due to Apple changing their hardware from PowerPC to x86.

G4 macs pre-date the transition to x86. There hasn't been and never will be a PowerPC based version of the WHS kernel, and you certainly won't get the x86 variant to run on PowerPC processors. CISC instruction set on a RISC processor, not happening, period.

The last version of Windows NT to have PPC architecture was NT4.

oh well :( was worth asking see if i could save a few quid !!
