runnning vista32 as my win7 beta ran out last week

I have around £200 to spend so what is best

win7 premium + 5770

or

5850 and stick with vista32

spec

8800gt + q9650 @3.6hz 4 gb

I would certainly suggest going for windows 7, a 5850 is faster in games than a 5770 - but the 5770 is still plenty fast and all the times you arn't gaming you get to use a far better operating system.

So I would certainly suggest going for 5770 + Windows 7 Home Premium.

Prolly should just ignore the talk of "download", that jazz just ain't cool.

If you can't go above £200 then a 5770 and windows 7 would be the best bet.

The download stuff isn't legal -therefore I wouldn't recommend doing it.

I would say as with the other a 5770 would be good but have a hunt around and check that the model you buy isnt generally plagued by the grey screen issues, there is a thread on the AMD forums discussing which models are affected and which seem not to be that might be helpful.

Hello labr@t,

I would not recommend downloading Windows 7 from any other site than the Official Microsoft Sites.
Additionally, it's always best to make sure you have a genuine version of Windows 7, this will entitle you to recieve updates and support from Microsoft with Genuine Advantage.

Please make sure that you have a officially licensed microsoft product which can be ordered directly from Microsoft and Authorized Resellers:

i don't think i could trust a pirated os who know what kind of malware is hidden in the core of your system.

TBH I just want somebody to reverse engineer DX for Linux, I would happily run linux all day long if it wasn't for my gaming addction :)
