How many modders are there here who enter competitions?

Just wondering. I was looking at the bit tech forums and saw a project that was on here too i think it was called purple rain and there is another too called monliath (sp)

Purely a hobby for me, though i was lucky enough to get ' Purple Rain' in next months CustomPC magazine ( Issue 81 ).

And there's a chance that i could be taking my next build to Spain for an expo type thing, free invite :cool:

There aren't any competitons i enter, i just hope that it gets recognised by people and picks up some interest.

No. The magazine feature is payment for me ( Though if they offered me a few 5970s' i wouldn't say no! ).

Like i said, modding for payment doesn't exist for people like me - You need to be very well known for this to occur, usually an established company.

Saying that, the Madrid trip is all paid for accom,meals,flight, baggage fees for the case shipping etc.

I think sponsorship is more common than paid modding, and that is hard enough to come by.

indeed it is, very hard indeed, you will also find that for a sponsorship deal to come about, you have to have done some real nice work to promote yourself.
