I want to punch the people making the video. They offend me. Am I wrong?

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.

or

He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security.
He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither.

Apparently yes, if nothing else the complete paranoia displayed by some people is rather amusing :p but why let facts and common sense get in the way of a good conspiracy theory! They will all beleive in the NWO, have fallout bunkers in their free given council homes because god forbid they would have to work they need time to "spread the word" and of course they all have the standard issue tinfoil hats.

Anyway I am going to bow out of this thread now, you cant win against some people, nor even make a slight point.

Plus being a zombie I have brains to go eat for my masters who will one day rule the world!!

See it's because of your attitude, you don't care about whats right but winning an argument rightly or wrongly, then when you can't you use extreme or fringe ideas and place them on the other person in an attempt to discredit and ridicule, as to make their argument seem invalid and crazy.

Some people really are stuck in a kind of day to day reality where tv is king and nothing questionable can happen from government and business, forgetting that countries have slipped into police states and worse many times throughout history, you think it can't happen, well it can and has, don't be so accepting of every law and bit of control placed on us, there are evil and corrupt men in this world who have positions of power to abuse.

well that's the most utterly retarded raping of that poem I've seen in quite some time.

Very very well said.

These guys are stupid Hypocrites just like everyone else.

Policeman asks to search him and he gets all uppity about being touched and that they are disrespecting his sovereignty if they touch him e.t.c. He then thinks he is a hero because of this.

Then, when the poiliceman don't want to be touched,hugged they get laughed at...:confused:

We are not zombies, this is just how the world works.

I would rather not be yelled at by some hippy douchebag with a megaphone about how much of a mindless zombie i am whilst walking around London. To me, that is breaching my peace.

Where exactly was anyone yelling anywhere in any video? Perhaps you have supersonic ears that amplify everything you hear, might want to get that checked out tbh.

They never laughed at the officers after asking for the love police hug, they calmly said why they were asking for it and explained it's what they do and it builds a better relationship between people and police, which is true...

I don't see hypocrisy anywhere but what I do see a complete lack of understanding in your post. Perhaps you should re-watch from 5 mins on in part2 of the video.

I think it's more the police trying to use big words and "acts" and "sections" to try coerce cooperation when they know they don't have that right.

Coercion is bad to do as a police officer.

What i see from you is an inability to understand human Psychology.

and if you are going to be picky then yes they probably were not yelling but that was what megaphones were invented for wasn't it.....:rolleyes:

yes, that or a bunch of idealists going around with a megaphone winding everyone up, using big words like "human sovereignty"

Actually you might as well flip that around and speak about yourself instead.

One or two people = everyone according to Jono8. Super.

The bystander woman who was talking in the background confirmed that the LP guys were being completely respectable and decent, sure one or two other public members weren't too fond of the free speech but there's nothing they were doing that was winding everyone up. The megaphone used wasn't one that was set to disturb the peace or violate noise pollution levels.

Oh and just because you don't understand what some big words mean doesn't automatically make the people using it the asshats you make them out to be.

I am yet to see what "Big words" were used in any of that video, In fact i believe you brought that term up originally. I was simply quoting you.

Anyway...whether it be everyone or two people, what right do they have to upset/disturb them?

Your are fully entitled to your opinion that these guys have done nothing wrong and clealry the police saw it that way as well in the end.

I just think they are hypocritical, idealist idiots who need that self important smug smile wiped off their faces.

That is all i have to say on the matter.

As with everything this is the exaggeration which illustrates what believing just one side of the story can do to you - that moron quoting "this is truly an Orwellian state we live in" needs to be shot; i bet hes never even turned a page of 1984.

It does raise some interesting legal questions however, as the policemen have a right as a human being to not be filmed unless they give their consent (it may be classed as a public place but im pretty sure that camera is fixed on the person as a single entity). Plus someone has already kindly pointed out his mis-quotation of Section 44 Terrorism Act - just goes to show how you can manipulate someone by saying something completely wrong in a confident and assured manner - aka an IT Manager :)

I watched a few other videos of theirs as a segway from the original vid on YT and there were similar miscreants being cocky towards "the man". It did raise a few questions however (especially the sniffer dog.. video):

1. If you are stopped by police, do you have to provide information? I know you have the right to remain silent on detention but does this right transcend to all .. scenarios?
2. Stop and search - if you are selected for a "random stop and search", do you have the legal right to refuse unless you are stopped under one of the "laws" such as Terrorism act etc?
3. Search of a vehicle - if you do not give consent for a search of your vehicle, what legal right do you have to refuse without the police having justifiable suspicion (i.e. were looking for a sniper rifle because we saw him blatting sheep with it out of the passenger window)? I was in a car subject to a search a couple years back, in which they turned the car upside down pretty much as they were looking for someone who had been "driving round shooting things with an air rifle". If he didnt see us shooting anything or have any rifle-like objects what legal right would one have to refuse?

Its an interesting topic law - i'd definitely have gone into it if i didnt go into 'puters instead.

Perhaps you're forgetting what you posted yourself....

Unfortunately no matter if you agree with what the guy did or didn't do, in this case the police officer lost the moral high ground as soon as he tried to use S.44. Clearly there was no terrorist threat from the people involved as was clear to even the officer involved as when asked he mumbled something about making a political statement.

By default I'm supportive of the police with family members as serving officers. They have to put up with a lot of crap and scrotes that play the system day in day out and it must be incredibly frustrating having to play by the rules when the people you are trying to protect the public from don't have the same problem. Having said that the service is there to protect the public and their rights in what we like to think of as a free country, even if the people involved are annoying, as long as they obey the law. Bending the law to suit a situation is a slippery slope, which as the irritating guy on the video said, ends up with a front page article in the newspaper undoing public perception of all the good work of thousands of other officers.

Whilst S.44 may well be useful in some circumstances, trying to use it as a catch all only undermines people confidence in officers that otherwise work long and hard to protect us.

Frankly the extreme arguments from both sides in this thread have just become a caricature of a sensible discussion, but then this is GD I suppose :)

It certainly worked with Icesave :D

it also worked equally as well with Walter Wolfgang...

Wolfgang attended the 2005 Labour Party conference as a visitor and sat in the part of the hall reserved for visitors, which is at the back. During a speech by then Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, in response to Straw's "We are in Iraq for one reason only: to help the elected Iraqi government build a secure, democratic and stable nation", Wolfgang shouted "Nonsense!". Some witnesses claimed he then may have added "That's a lie and you know it!" and/or "Pack of lies!".

In full view of the television cameras, much conference stewards, who were on alert for any attempts to disrupt the speech, then picked up and removed Wolfgang and confiscated his security pass. Erith and Thamesmead Constituency Labour Party chairman Steve Forrest, who was sitting nearby, was also removed (more forcibly) for voicing his objections to Wolfgang's treatment. When Wolfgang attempted to re-enter the conference later the same day, his pass showed that he had been removed previously, and he was briefly held by police under section 44 of the Terrorism Act.
