Just noticed ocuk have the 5970 black edition in for £589.99, was it not like £570-ish a couple of weeks back?:confused:

Yup, prices have defo gone up. Bought a Powercolour 5870 last Thursday for £290, its now £335 (different e-tailor) however I haven't received it as UPS have lost it !?$!£?!!"£%

Prices are a joke. A certain online store can have some decent prices if you wait for them to do their price slash. They were selling powercolor 5850 for £199 the other day. All 70+ sold in less than 24 hours obviously. They also had the 5970 at £499 not long ago. Prices in general seem bad and you have to wait for these offers to even consider buying right now really.

The 5970 is hilarious. RRP £425. Yet best online prices seem to be £520-£550. And some are trying to sell at £570+. Considering what the card is i.e. 2x5870 (reduced clocks) on 1 pcb & the pro's cpons of the card, and the prices of the 5850/5870 I would be happy to pay out £460 for the 5970, no more.

My 5770s were £124 on release, plus custom coolers for £15 each, and they perform better than the new pricey MSI Hawk / Sapphire toxic / Asus Cucore versions, which all cost a lot. The Cucore one is cheaper, but it only has 1 Xfire bridge and a VGA port :x.

The 5800s perform great, but these prices are ridiculous. Just try and get two 5770s at £120 each if you want some ATI 5000s, best price to performance setup if you can still get £120 ones that is.

The Cat 10.3 drivers have also boosted there performance by quite a decent amount.
