Dont forget guys, fuel isn't expensive enough at the moment.

So there is another 2.5p+vat being put on a litre of fuel as of 1st April.

Seriously, what

After seeing the damage 2008's high oil prices did to the economy why would the government want to deliberately push us back towards 120p a litre?

So this rise will take unleaded to 115p a litre - and this is with oil at 'only' $80 a barrel....

The oil may be cheaper in $ but the £ is also weaker so you get less oil for your £ so it works out just as expensive. Basically we're all shafted.

Do you know how the fuel will breakdown come 1st of April assuming 115ppl?

How much is raw cost, tax, profit etc?

daylight robbery tbh.....

Hopefully the lorry drivers will do another fuel blockade (did that actually do anything to fuel prices???)

With the additional tax and VAT likely to increase this year, if the oil price start to go up quickly, we're fubered.

I swear I saw a garage at 1.20 last night.

We're getting shafted enough already, the press seem to be very quiet on it too, were we not back down to 1.00 a litre not so long ago?

Wasn't there changes made to the way fuel duty is charged to level out fuel costs.

Ie. When oil prices are low, more duty than normal is charged, and when oil prices are high, less duty than normal is charged.

I already pay over £1.20/l :(

It's at times like this I am glad that I only use £20 a month in fuel on average. I would find it hard to justify 22mpg over 12k a year.

I know we are really feeling it now, running 2 cars just really is a little bit harsh on the old purse strings.

Luckily mine is a little diesel and as such is still giving decent MPG results, the wife's scenic is a petrol and drinks petrol for fun.

To be honest i as a driver am sick of being constantly bent over and bummed by the governments ridiculous taxation systems, as a car owner i feel absolutely dismayed that fuel is getting up to the 120p mark again.

I dont think this level of taxation would stand elsewhere, france or germany for example i think they would riot

/melodramatic me mode off now

Yay... all these new 'Eco' cars coming on the roads with 60+ MPG, must be lowering the overall tax revenues on fuel... hence price hikes continue. :(

The price in the rest of Europe is about the same, if not more.
