John Venables Identity Known?

Putting my own personal feelings and anger to one side for a moment, I'm sure this time they'll do everything they can to secure justice and not let him slip through the judicial loop hole net as last time, hence the the silnce behind this. However, someone knows otherwise this would have never have leaked out in the first place.

Eh? Re-read the my post. I said THAT specific article seems to suggest that he went off the rails (again) due to the pressure on him to hide his past, nothing to do with other articles.

As for the pornography charge we don't know he had a collection of child porn, just a few tabloids drumming up a story with apparently no real evidence behind it... In fact child porn charges would be perfect to make him even more "hated" by the tabloids that insist on causing the hysteria surrounding him in the first place, which to me makes them very suspect. I haven't seen any reputable newspapers printing that yet and I think i'll wait and see what is said officially...

Couldnt care less if he felt guilty about his 'secret'...he and his mate showed absolutely no remorse/guilt when he was grilled and charged with James Bulgers murder.

Like i said if he had a mental breakdown then its a shame he didnt kill himself as he would have saved us a lot of bother in all honesty.

No, not for his original crime, he committed a serious crime and was punished for it, however I do feel slightly sorry for him if he was otherwise rehabillitated and then broke down due to the massive pressure of taking a new identity. We should also look at our society that forced him to be protected IMO. Not a society that I like living in if we don't care about law and order and only care about baying for blood, so many people are worse than animals (and i'm not talking about Venables). :(

It is likely that if he does go to court, he will assume a new identity before hand or after.
 
Its never sat well with me the way Jamie Bulgers murderers received such short sentences. regardless of their ages when they committed the crime. Jamie didn't get his first chance at life, let alone a second one.

What they did to Jamie was utterly barbaric and subhuman. They shouldn't have been released. The Thompson and Venables families should have also been held to account for actions carried out on that unfortunate day.

Just thinking about the way in which that poor child died before even being given a chance at life, still brings my blood to the boil today.

Nice, you are one of those I mentioned in my previous post tbh.

Yes they showed no remorse then (tbh I have no idea, I was about 5 at the time) however the question is did they show real remorse just before release (after years of being rehabilitated and shown what they did was wrong) and do they show remorse now. For the latter I'd suggest yes as that would explain why he may have had a mental breakdown...

Maybe people should stop talking about it as if it were a common occurrence. Child killers are rare and I don't know what not showing "remorse/guilt" is supposed to mean when the criminals are themselves kids.

From all accounts both the kids had pretty messed up childhoods. It is probably easier though just to consider them as broken, makes things a lot easier to deal with, we can just wish them dead and be happy...
 
They were not released because they were rehabilitated, a loop hole in the system meant they could be free as adults as they were convicted juveniles which meant they never had to time feel remourse let alone regards to their actions.

IIRC they were deemed to be younger than the age required to be prosecuted in the first place, and were only prosecuted due to the pubic uproar caused by the abduction, torture and murder.

So in may respects they "could" have walked away Scott-free

I thought the other one did show remorse and said sorry to Jamie's mum?
 
I think it is sad that the tabloid press can whip the public into such a frenzy of hate. What he did when he was a child was horrific, but he was a child from a bad home. That's absolutely not an excuse, but I believe that someone 10 years old who had a life like is, has less understanding for what is right and wrong than someone who is 20, 30 or 40.

If he has commited a crime now let him be tried and punished appropriately for that and that alone. Surely it isn't hard to work out that someone who suffered abuse as a child and then went on to murder a child is going to have a troubled life??? He clearly needs help.

As for his identity, that has nothing to do we me, you or any member of the public. How will it make anyones life better knowing what his new name is???

Tabloid news is pathetic.
