Spec me speakers please (Logitech Z-2300 vs Z-5500)
I've heard that these two speaker sets are very good, and I like their look, so I think I'll buy one of them. I just have two questions:
Is there any difference between the Z-2300 and Z-5500 apart from the number of speakers?
If the Z-5500 has audibly better sound quality or better bass/subwoofer, I'll go for the more expensive route, but if the Z-2300 sounds exactly the same I'll take it, as I'm not a heavy user of surround sound.
Also, would a cheap sound card do the speakers justice or would I need a more expensive model to get the most out of them? My current onboard soundchip is ALC888.
Edit: Also, to complement my soundcard not having an equalizer, I currently use SRS Audio Labs to make my sound not flat (I tend to turn down midsections and turn up bass/treble). I'm looking for something that will make this obsolete, as it doesn't support 24bit or 192kHz sound. (My sound card does) Its usage also occasionally results in noticeable pops and crackles when starting and stopping playback.
