Well I'm thinking of going crossfire, before I do so I need two questions answering. :)

1. I have a xfx 5870 now if I buy a HIS 5870 will I need to flash it to have xfx bios as I am wishing to OC to 1Ghz like my current card.

2. Is it worth me waiting for fermi release because i've heard prices arent going to drop although I'd be ****ed to buy it now and see that its £40 cheaper in a few weeks.

People will tell you ATI cards prices ain't gonna dropped, because they are convinced that Nvidia's new card will sucks so it's not gonna impact upon ATI prices. But their prediction ain't gonna be any better than your own, cause nobody would know for sure what will happen when Nvidia actually release their cards.

Prices for ATI have rised already, so there's probably no harm wait a few more weeks for some solid solid review of the Nvidia cards as well as see if pricing will drop for the ATI cards. If the damn ATI cards are going to rise to even more ridiculous prices than now, I got nothing to say except the retailers in Britain are killing PC gaming by being too greedy.

In Britain we are really getting ripped off big time for paying more for the same thing where other countries getting them much cheaper.

Nowhere near as bad as Germany, stores here get cards for 1.2x - 2x of OcUK's price.

Even for cheap cards shipping & handling costs less than the price different.

My card on amazon is £370 xD

Might wait then until the fermi is released what about flashing the bios?

I'd wait till Fermi is out before buying.
ATI certainly wont be increasing prices then, more likely the opposite.
The new cards might also prove to be a viable upgrade choice.

i wanna look into xfrieing 2 5850's but i cant get my hands on 1 yet!!! also there does not seem to be many x fire amd boards around so it could be a while i guess

What resolution and games are u playing? It may simply be that 2x 5870s arent going to be impressive enough a difference to warrant spending £315 at this stage.

Res is 1680x1050 on a single 22" monitor but in 4-7months time I am going to go 3 monitors. Games I play are GTA IV, BFBC 2, Crysis, C Warhead...all the latest top end games coming out too. Soon be getting my hands on Assassins creed 2. I'm happy with my current card except some drops I get in games that use DX 11 such as BFBC 2 when explosions happen "all of the time xD" I get dips from 60 to 25. And its pretty distracting, i'm one of those people that demand preformance :P

I know a site that has a 5870 labelled for £299, but you have to wait a month for delivery.

I know a site that has a 5870 for £296 and free next day delivery if you're a forum member.

Can't remember what the place is called, I think it's OcUK or something like that. ;):p
