looks pretty good to me, Square made the effort to redo the lip movement for english versions, although i have maybe one or twice seen it slightly wrong. 12 hours played so far.

Mine got dispatched Thursday and its still not here. Same thing happened with DJ Hero with Game, I vowed I'd never order from them again. Wish I could cancel it now and go pick it up at midnight from a supermarket :(.

lol my local adsa has already sold out ..... something tells me they were selling before the release date :p

I am going to start playing the game soon, I will start a stopwatch and see how many minutes before I am allowed to press a button that is not X. If the naysayers are right I won't be posting in this thread again for 20 hours, at least.

Being realistic I suspect there is a lot of exaggeration going on to be honest, I am sure it may be linear, but I doubt you just watch the screen and tap X when prompted. Although such games do exist (they are called Guitar Hero and Dance dance :) )

you can choose what ever spells etc you want, it's actually a lot to juggle one you get going with the Paradigms aswell.

hehe, its like that at the start as you just have att/blitz but as you progress (takes about 2 hours) you will unlock a lot of things like magic, aoe spells moves etc, who is going to be healer tank support etc, paradigms/attributes lots of diff weapons and armour, gets really good, but yes the first couple of hours is basically the tutorial for those who haven't pld ff before and gradually unlocks stuff.

Yeah you don't start off with a lot, but eventually progressing through the game will unlock more. And you know the Auto-Battle command is optional for lazy battles, it's not like that is the only thing you can use.

Only played for an hour, therefore only have 2 abilities, one of which is direct attack and one is an area effect attack. I use both quite often, just trying to time area attacks when monsters are close together. It isn't exactly lots to do, but it's what you should expect from only have 2 moves :)

So far I'm loving the game! The battle system works very well I find, I was dreading it to be something like X-2 but the system is much more balanced and thought out. The linearity doesn't bother me in the slightest and I'm not sure why reviewers keep raising this point as the game was obviously designed this way. Seems a lot of people just rate it in comparison of what they expected compared to what it actually is.

Really though, it's no different to any past Final Fantasy game where all you have is Attack and a few magic spells like Fire, Ice, Thunder/Lightning when you start off and cannot upgrade or access the menu statistics for them until later on. Most of the time, I don't even use the magic spells until like the first boss battle, so it really is no difference if I just constantly use Attack till then.
