The death toll from weekend violence in central Nigeria climbed to more than 200 Monday after members of a machete-wielding Muslim group attacked a mostly Christian town south of the city of Jos, officials said.

More than 200 were dead and 32 injured, according to Choji Gyang, a religious affairs adviser to the head of Plateau state, who said bodies were still being recovered. Sani Shehu, president of the non-governmental agency Civil Rights Congress, put the number of dead at about 485 people.

Shocking, just imagine if that happened here in the UK. It'd be a national outrage, retaliation from everywhere.

Where was the army in all this, or are they the army? If these ethno-religious clashes are often, then surely they could have been more prepared (police/army that is).

Its also a tit-for-tat attack for the killings in January that went in the otehr direction.

At least was reported upon and our media saw fit to inform us what's going on in the world, Dafur province in Sudan has had this and much worse than this for years while the UN sits and watches and counts the dead making the occasional moan to the Sudan govt who say nothing they can do about the muslim horsemen.
 
I was born in Nigeria and it was normal to go outside of your compound and see headless bodies all over the place.
Those pesky Nigerians.
