There was one of those Cop programmes on the other week that focused on caravans and they make a bomb.
Most caravans have chips built inside them and plates like a car engine.
At one caravan meet they towed 3 caravans away and one bloke had paid £6000 cash to a bloke who he 'met halfway down the motorway' to do the deal.

for a shockingly low amount of time though for some of them, under 5 years you can half their time then take a little bit more off for good behaviour, nothing compared to the amount of grief they gave to people.

any party that doesn't have building of a lot more jails as a pledge isn't worth voting for.
 
I had a caravan worth 7 grand nicked in the middle of the night from a secure compound next to my house by 'travellers'. It would have taken several men to complete the task and they must have been pretty desperate to have that particular model as they dismantled a 6' 6'' metal fence and literally lifted one concreted in fencepost clean out of the ground. They then cut down a young tree so as they could tow the caravan a way out of sight of the house.
The caravan was fitted with 2 approved wheelclamps as stipulated by my insurers which they simply crowbarred off of the wheels. These wheelclamps were left behind at the scene and when I enquired as to whether the cops were going to dust them for prints next morning I was told it'd be a waste of time. As soon as the cops realised I had insurance it was 'call at the station to get your crime number and put in a claim'. Police simply not interested in following it up probably because it's travallers and there's little chance of finding them. These people live outside of society with no real identity as regards birth certs, fixed addresses etc.
Curiously when I later had a petrol quad nicked from my garage I got the full treatment from the law. cid, soco, followup info. Of course the difference was that the guy that nicked my quad was black....and traceable.

Easy, park them on touring caravan sites amongst hundreds of others, nobodies coming round checking on private land. Move them later or more likely sell them straight off the site to unsuspecting buyers.

Because they were under age at the time.

If you wish to talk about whether minors should be treated the same as legal adults in the criminal justice system, that's a different argument.

Its the same as "bargain" cars with fake VINs and fake registration documents.

Caravans have a similar system called CRIS and these thieving scum will erase the original CRIS numbers and put new ones with matching documents.

On to ebay and the mugs will think they're buying a bargain.
