Hi I currentley have a 295 GTX, with a Antec 1200 case. Now, on games, and it seems to be any game, my temp on the GPU goes up 90-94. On desktop its about 57-59. Is this right for it to go that high on games, i mean its constant on about 90. My friend has same CPU and GPU and case as me, and he idles at about 64-65 when he is on the same game as me. Is there something wrong with my GPU?

Btw, I have cleaned the case out fully, all fans. Got all dust inside of case cleaned. I have even tried turning the fan on the GPU up with a programme, but still no use. By fans on the case are also on max speed.

Thanks!

Although those temps are high i wouldn't worry unless you see artifacting since all gfx cards these days seem to have good heat sensors so the fans adjust to 100% speed when needed and when they do your temp will stay where it's at if not go cooler eventually.(like my gtx275 stress test hits 92c but never higher due to the 100% fan speed adjusting at that temp, gaming it hits about 60c-70c usually.)

Best thing to do is install a program like EVGA precision and turn the fan(s) up manually when gaming.

I find MSI Afterburner better for setting fan speeds with it's easy grachical layout, but both are good programs to use.

Back tracked from 196.75 to 196.21 and temps dropped a lot. Twice with 196.75 installed games crashed with the lastest drivers due to high temps. And even with maunal fan speeds set to high this was occurring. Now with 196.21 temps are stable again. So it seems odd that your temps are high using the older drivers.

Did you use compressed air when cleaning your card Falconik?
