Happy Women's Day :)

United Kingdom

In the United Kingdom the day is not officially celebrated, however, some small local groups may observe it informally; University of Kent students celebrated International Men's Day at Mungos Bistro on the university campus on November 19. This event was organized and coordinated by the Kent University student organization 'Raise and Give' (or RAG as it is better known). RAG is Kent Union's charitable arm located in the Student Activities Center which raises money for various charities each year. Activities for IMD night included live soccer coverage of England v Germany, comedy acts and live music from student band "Clacket Lane". There was a raffle, a guitar hero competition and an X-box tournament to raise money. About 300 people attended with roughly equal numbers of males and females. All proceeds raised went to ORCHID a charity for all male cancers, including prostate, penile or testicular cancer.[48]

Obviously we need days like this, because it's not like people are defined and divided by their sex too much already.

Hmmm if I was a woman I'd want something more than a bunch of Gerberas, and a less clashy colour combination too :P

If?

A reminder of mens day would be useful if anyone remembers come November. Since my girlfriend will have no idea of its existence it's certain she'll "forget", thus making it harder for her to be angry when I next forget our anniversary/valentines day/her birthday. Perhaps...

However we should be able to celebrate our differences and also not hate those that are different.

So as long as there is a Mens day it is all good.

Do you really think that lumping all people of the same sex together as one group is celebrating our differences?

I am sick and tired of people lumping vast numbers of people together as a single entity and then claiming anyone who objects to that is denying differences, etc. It's such grotesque hypocrisy. Celebrating difference does not mean dividing humanity into two (or a few) groups.

Where did you pull "hate" from?

You appear to be arguing that seeing people as individuals rather than as one of two groups is denying differences and hating those who are different. Which is ridiculous to the point of insanity.
