hi all. jus bought bad company 2 and didnt realise my pc doesnt meet the minimum spec to play it so im after another pc. im looking to spend £500-£550 including delivery and windows 7. mainly going to be using it for gaming. from looking at a few of the other threads it seems like i can get a higher spec pc from a ready built OC system. Are any of these any good?

or would i still be better off trying to build one myself? let me know what you guys think. thanx:)

Don't think i've missed anything off, but you're going to have to source stuff elsewhere. OCUK is an enthusiast shop, not a budget one. What's your current monitor? You could perhaps reuse some stuff (like disk drive, hard drive, case) if it's good enough and squeeze a bit more performance out of it...

Slightly over but you can trim some off if you need to. I chose that mobo because it unlocked my 550 and has clocked it well :) If unlocking/clocking isn't your thing then you can get a lesser board and be in budget :)

aint got much worth saving on my current pc. ive got a samsung syncmaster913 monitor but in the next few months ill be buying a lcd or plasma and using it as a monitor.

Good spec tho,
swap CPU for 555
swap mobo Asus M4A785TD-V Evo AMD 785G (Socket AM3) DDR3
get DDR3 kit, it's same price.

Should work out around same price.
Might take the x3 435 to save 30quid, will be fine too.

I would definately go with this, my current rig will be almost identical once i have finished!, I would definately go with an AM3/HD 57x0, to futureproof it a bit more, and the 550/5770 combo seems to work a treat :P

what about what rei and pheonix said about changeing the MB and memory?

Well i would personally splash out a bit more and go with that, but in the end it's what you want to do,
My reasons for picking that MB would be the reliability i have experienced whilst using it, its never missed a heartbeat.
And well i dont have that exact corsair ram but it is still great stuff,

But in the end it boils down to how much your willing to spend etc.

Sorry, about DDR3 It is probably worth going for it as DDR2 is becoming obselete nowadays, as for the 555 CPU, i only just found out that it existed, so yup its probably worth going with a DDR3/555/HD 5770 combo :D

It's not on overclockers atm. It's an updated 550 with better silicon which allows it to clock higher :)

I'd take Phoenix's updated version of my spec :)

For bad company 2, go for a quad core.

if i do change for a quad core which one? are all the other components ok? i dont think ill be overclocking anything cos ive never done it. i was trying to keap my budget at £550 and the cheapest i could find on Oc and other sources were:

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £119.98
Asus M4A785TD-V EVO 785G Socket AM3 onboard DVI VGA HDMI 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard £67.50
AMD PHENOM X2 555 Black Edition 3.2GHZ 6MB Cache Retail £77.85
Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM Caviar Blue £39.97
Corsair CX 400W ATX Power Supply (CMPSU-400CXUK) £39.99
Coolermaster Elite 335 Case - Black £28.55
Samsung SH-S223C/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £14.99
windows 7 home 64 bit £76.52

Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX Dual Channel (TWIN2X4096-8500C5C) £76.99 (Pheonix did say to change this to DDR3 ut i cant find it at the same price)

All this with delivery comes to £548
