^^^THIS! People in their 20s never realise how much fun it is to get all the "showing off" out of the way and just have fun.

I suppose in most cases as well late 20s/30s is the first time in life you're debt free, or are lucky enough to have good debt (eg lots of equity in a house). That must help a lot.

I had my midlife crisis just after 30. Went off the rails, jacked a perfectly good job in, got another car, took up drinking. Never looked back. My life is much better now, and I've started balding and I don't care
