*** Final Fantasy XIII ***

As far as im aware registering the game in uk gains you naff all i think its only usa copies that get the code to then gain you another code for the new ff mmorpg if thats why your all registering it assume?
 
Buyers of Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3 in the USA will find an extra special treat. As well as a ‘Secret in-game item’ they will be able to enter a draw to become a beta tester for Final Fantasy XIV. The MMO is due for launch this year (yes, really) and is exclusive to PS3.

Yeah to check i was right i checked sixthaxis, the beta applys to usa only which i find rather odd surely if its exclusive to any country would be japan
 
I was gutted after reading the reviews but the general feel of this thread is that the game is actually good. I'm getting tempted to pop out and get it.

Everyone has such huge expectations, hopefully some negativity has numbed me to the hype and I can enjoy the game without the blinkers on :P
 
Dunno about you lot messing about with that code, When 14s beta was announced first anyway, You could apply, when I did that i ticked PC and PS3, so I reckon I'll keep the code for the item thingy.

Dont get me wrong, im a big FF buff and im traditionalist in that i lament the loss of world maps, villages, npc interactions and the party control. But in this day and age you need to look at a game, any game even FF, as a whole package.

Its categorically NOT the final fantasy "I" wanted from squaresoft (basically FF7 remake would do me, or FF9) but what this "IS" is a spectacular no holds barred action rpg of the highest order. To dislike this for what has been left out would be to sully the name of other geat RPG's that have also done things a little differently, rpg's like Mass effect, KOTOR and Fallout to name just 3.

This game stands miles beyond the 'standard' for modern videogame entertainment and it is only in clinging to those rose tinted longings of our childhoods that sullies our enjoyment of what is a very nice reinvention of the JRPG genre. In essence put down the buster sword and jump in.

The code works for both the beta and the item anyhow.

May give the game a go after seeing the generally positive spin you guys have gave the game, not holding out massively high hopes though
 
How the hell do you kill Odin?

Tried it about 5 times but it just keeps raping me. I use one as a Ravager, one as a Medic but the Medic very rarely gets a chance to heal because Odin is just keep hitting me?
