I need to get a suit for a formal I have to go to for University. I know it probably requires a diner jacket, bow tie and one of those black things around the waist but I was hoping I could get a suit to double up as a suit would be useful for work aswell (save money).

.....or should I get a diner jacket and trousers? :s

Isn't there a massive great shopping centre in Brizzle?

I haven't been there personally, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there is a good possibility you will find a suitable suit vendor there :p

Black things around the waist = Cummerbund.

If it's black tie then a suit won't cut it and you'll look out of place. Buying will work out cheaper if you will go to more than 3 or 4 such occasions in your life.

Going to the law ball are we? I might see you there ;)

Moss Bros on Park Street should sort you out, or Marks and Spencers near Cabot Circus will do you good.

As above - a normal suit is properly called a 'lounge suit' very different from a dinner suit.
