Here is what I would get from the same retailer you are using:

Phenom II X2 550 ~ £66

MSI 770-C45 AM3 ~ £49

Crucial 4GB 1333MHZ DDR3 ~ £80

Be Quiet 530W Pure Power PSU ~ £44

Samsung F3 500GB ~ £43

LiteOn IHAS124-19 ~ £14

HD5770 1GB ~ £125

Casecom 6788 ~ £26

Windows 7 64 bit OEM ~ £77

The total comes to around £524 including the free postage the retailer offers. You could spend the money saved on the full retail version of Windows 7 if required.

I did a quick check and it seems that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 seems to run better on triple and quad cores so I would also look at the X3 440 too.

would the quad core work with all those components? cos from searching on the net BC2 runs twice better on the quad core than on the dual. also is this card better than the HIS ATI ? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-216-SP&tool=3

You can get the X4 630 or X4 635 from that retailer and be within your £550 budget.

I only chose the HD5770 from that retailer as it they have free postage and it would be simpler to get everything from one company. There is also an MSI HD5770 available too for a similar price.

The MSI motherboard will work with Athlon II and Phenom II processors with a TDP of upto 125W:

hard to know what GC to go for:P how much better than the 630 and 635 would the one of the phenomx4 be? cos if its only about £40 extra and id get a lot more from it then id consider paying more.

The MSI motherboard will work with 125W TDP processors like the 3.2GHZ X4 955BE fine but I would go with the 95W X4 945 if you are not overclocking.

Here is a comparison of the DDR3 X4 635 and the DDR2 X4 940:

The X4 945 basically can use DDR3 unlike the X4 940 which could only use the DDR2 and had a lower HT speed.

AFAIK,HIS are a good company for graphics cards.

so paying the extra £4 for 0.2GHz isnt worth it?

If you don't mind the higher TDP then get the X4 955BE especially since you don't intend to do any overclocking. The Casecom case has a single 120MM fan. I would get another 120MM fan so you can get some decent airflow in the case.
