Dont Forget VXR Track Day Tickets on Sale Tomorrow

Not a patch on the thing General Motors used to have in Vegas

Was called "The Drive" and had a race track and an off road course

you could just turn up, pick your cars and off you go

I had a Hummer H2 and a Corvette, would have had more but was late in the day when I got there

The cost ........................ $5 per lap  :p

it was £10 last year, but nothing mentioned this year.

But then last year spectators got a free passenger lap with the instructor, and could probably blag a lap with the BTCC driver on duty that day. I got a ride with matt neil I'll never forget. Absolute legend.

Ok cool. Just spoke to the g/f, shes off for a week from the 27th July and has family from County Durham. Two birds. One stone. Hello Croft :D

Having done both Rotty, 'the drive' may have been cheap, but I don't think I got above 40mph in the Corvette C6 I drove, whereas I've driven pretty close to 10/10ths in an Astra VXR at these days. Can't be beaten for the track time vs. cost.

not sure what speed I got to, the only straight was the first one but would imagine it was quicker than that

I was doing 111 on the back straight of rockingham last year :D

Went with a couple of mates to Brands last year and it was grand!!!

Worried that waiting for people this year could mean missing out. nly problem though is snetterton is the closest for me, but I'l gladly go along on my own and make it a day of driving. Morning blast in the Teg to the circuit, then a ragging the hell out of some cheating FI cars :D

Anyone else at Snetterton and if so which session?

EDIT: seems like some of you guys are going to thruxton so I might just come along there anyway as it's only an extra 30miles and 20mins ontop each way for me.... AM session ?????????

Forgive the noobyness, but what are these all about?

Are they the same as the car experiences you can buy, but without the fascist-style limits placed on how hard you can drive the car?

Do you need any prior experience? What basically happens on the day itself, how long do you get in the car/s?

All you need to know is that you jump in a VXR and get taugh how to drive it to the max around the track.

It isn't all about bouncing it off the limit and throwing it into the corners, the instructors teach you about control, balancing the car through the bends and hwo to get the most out of it.

Usually 3 laps but at the end of the brands session I got in with teh same instructor again and he just said I can stick with him and I did 7 or so laps to finish.

Yes, Yes and no.

My last instructor was telling me to go harder, and to cut the corners more and really push the envelope with how fast i could go throug the corners. Excellent fun. No speed limits, no rev limits, no dual controls, no "change up, change up" malarky. Just go out, drive as hard as you dare and have fun. mess about and you get kicked off. Simple as.

The way it works is you turn up, get given a helmet, and go on a sighting lap with the instructor. They show you the corners, the lines and talk you through it. You then go back and queue up at a bus stop style system to drive a car. You do an outlap, a flying lap, and an in lap. Then queue up again.

Is McDonalds on the in lap ? :p

Are all the VXRs there - Corsa, Astra, Insignia, VXR8?

And do you need to be a certain age/have held a licence for a certain time?

Last questions, I promise. :)
