I've traded in for a Civic Type R

By the time I get to a Motorway, my car will already be warm - it only takes about a mile or so for oil to reach 'you may **** me senseless now' temps.

Are you sure??? I never ever go above 3k until at least 5 miles and then give it beans after about 10.

Mine is a weekend toy so more meticulous and never in a rush so always ensure it's properly warmed up certainly never under 2 miles. Your turbo must love your driving style :D

Surely a car manufacturer like Honda should know what they are doing, I mean, they make the best cars in the world, right? :)

My car is very well cared for, but once oil is temp is creeping up to 1/4 on the gauge, pressure starts to drop and coolant is up to temp, it is fair game.

I don't rag the **** out of it everywhere, I simply see that as my cue that I no longer have to take it easy.

Fair enough mine sits around 1/4 unless I give it beans and it sits just under 1/2. I just cannot believe a mile is enough to warm up a 2.5T engine. Each to their own, I'm no mechanic :)

It does of course depend on outside temperatures, and if its been used that day, too.

It might take a bit longer on colder days, but its nearly always up to temp within two miles.

It was a bit tongue in cheek - Honda owners tend to be a bit obsessive, but it seems you might be one of the sane ones? :)

I used to make the classic no torque jokes about the S2000. I got a lot of LOL WUT type of comments when I actually bought one.

Some car owners go to great lengths defending their car purchase/choice. Every car has flaws but I dont feel the need to go out defending the S2000 every time a no torque joke comes along, infact I join in. ;)

£8500 sounds like a lot for a 44k non-Premier to be honest, but has already been remarked if you're happy with it then that's what counts, you can't take it (money) with you, etc blah blah.

It has A/C which is a big plus as the cost to retrofit is significant and despite what anyone tells you about "lol power loss & extra weight" you won't care come summer.

Welcome to the club. :D

You must feel the engine sapped of power when you turn it on mind. Only car I have noticed the A/C seems to have no impact was a 6 Cylinder BMW. I can feel the power drop in the ST.

Only car I noticed it was on a 73bhp Fiesta. When you have so little you notice it more.

It's hard to tell in the K20 engined cars because they only display water temp. Once the water temp is at the normal position another mile is advised before VTECing it I'd say. The car will allow it sooner but that's probably Honda reducing the annoyance factor of such a restriction. It's not a rev limit either, it just doesn't change cam so you can still rev it higher than you need to when cold.

The odd thing is I would get to work for 9am, leave at 5pm and the car would still be somewhat warm. The water temp gauge gets to one position and sits there regardless on the EP3 I found unless it gets a bit warmer outside.

Just because it doesn't have an oil gauge, doesn't mean it doesn't have an oil temp sensor.

This surprises me, I can't feel it in a mapped ST.

I couldn't even feel the difference in my old 1.6 VXR.
