Dont Forget VXR Track Day Tickets on Sale Tomorrow

if everybody is out on track. That means 24 people will be queuing.

That means 8 people in front of you assuming everybody queues the same. Which they wont. I will be 15 people for the Insignias and about 4 or 5 for the astras / corsas so just get in them first and do the insignias last.

Since it looks like I missed the boat on Thruxton which would have been more convenient, I have just booked Snetterton for July :).

AM or PM ?

And we still use IE6 at work, stunning how many sites don't work - actually what am i saying, its stunning any sites work on such an abortion of a browser !

Also, another titbit of information. There are 30 cars on track for the 54 places. These comprise 10 Corsas, 10 Astras and 10 Insignias

Feedback from last year was that we were wasting peoples time with the Zafiras and mervias so they got scrapped. VXR8 is gone as its out of production.

Even better. I was expecting 3 or 4 of each car and a lot of waiting around.

I spy more people waiting for the Insignia so i'm just gonna hop in the available Corsa/Astra.

Who cares about the Meriva/Zafira anyway :p

Absolutely ridiculous isnt it. There were plenty of spaces available for the track I wanted when I went to book.

I have been checking regularly since they sent me the email last year/early this year and to miss out because of a crappy website sucks. Just have to hope the Snetterton AM session (2h drive) will still have some places by the time I am home.

I even refreshed at 7:45 this morning before leaving for work and there was no book button then :/

was the opposite at thruxton, i guess people wanted to have fun, not drive a lardy rep mobile around when we went :p

astra no doubt most fun, VXR8 will be a loss though, was nice hearing that roar.

any idea why they only doing one day per track this year?

AM but I can't remember which date and it's not on the confirmation e-mail. Suppose I should give them a call really.

Even if it's not quite as good as you guys have made it out to be, you really can't say no for £95.

Re: The whole IE6 thing, This BBC Blog was an interesting read for me the other day, especially the comments. Basically it's not Fox's fault, but a combination of website developers not wanting to spend time making websites work in all browsers, Fox's company for being too cheap to upgrade (although this can costs millions and see little benefit) and Microsoft for making such a crud browser then giving up assuming that no one else would make a better one.

I'm not 21 till July 30th so couldn't go on any of them but will go next year for sure!

I can#t wait for this :D

Been wanting to do a trackday for years but the thought of ruining brake/other components on my own car always put me off.

Is the tuition good? Ive only every had a Ferrari trackday and that consisted of about 10 mins in the car around the track.

What's croft like? Do I have to pretend to be interested in owning a VXR?

Same. Don't fancy wrecking components on my car so would rather wreck someone else's :p

Croft is **** I think. It's too flat and boring. That's from a spectator point of view though. Never driven on it so i'm really looking forward to it :D

The instructors teach you how to drive the car properly round the track, and each has a different way so you learn lots. ALthough it can be confuisig sometimes.

Forget these silly supercar experiences where you get 10 mins giving a supercar some beans with loads of restrictions.

Much more fun throwing an Astra VXR round the track like a touring car driver!

30 cars for 54 people hmm, imagine there will be a fair bit of waiting around.

On the contrary i should think.

I'm fairly sure that a normal trackday would be no where near as good value. Think about tyres, brakes, petrol, a service on your car and wear and tear. Oh and the cost of the track time.

These VXR trackday events are stupidly good value IMO.

TBH I can see everyone getting excited about the new Insignia and queuing en masse for that, I'm happy to sit in the Corsa/Astra with the instructor for a long period than wait around for hours to get a small drive of the Insignia. This will be my first experience of driving something reasonably powerful in anger, so I'm looking forward to it.

Guys I am super excited about this now.

That's what happened last year with the VXR8. I spent most of my time in the Astra VXR which was great fun.
