What the final game aswell? The beta felt really bad but I have to say playing it now temporary on my GF's rig (E5200 @ stock) is not THAT bad with a 4870
BETA ran better for me (lower textures).
It's just not as responsive as it should be i think.

already been showed that quad is like night and day difference even from a high clocked dualcore. obiously the ones with the dualcores are gunna say it doesnt matter 
the difference can be double frame rates in some cases so yes a quad for bfbc2 is deffo worth it if you gunna mainly play battlefield.
i have like twenty clan members playing with all different settings from low end dualcore to the highest of the high clocked i7 rigs . we have tried all different settings across the board and this has confirmed what was said earlier.
its even in the recommended spec list from ea so why do you think that is ?
my friend for instance has a 260gtx and a q8200 @ 2.66 dualcore i have my 955 @ 3.7 and a ati 4850 and i get nearly double fps. even with his cpu at 3.2 makes near enough no difference. mine is nearly double. these are at exact same settings !
there are benchies showing that to eliminate any possible cpu bottleneck in this game you need a quad of 4ghz ! so trying to reasonn a stock c2duo or even a midly overclocked one isnt ideal.
with the prices of quads now to be honest its worth getting one and i wouldnt even consider a dualcore unless it was a amd bargin that might unlock to a quad.

I'm not interested in seeing someone saying I went from socket 775 duo to corei5/7 quad I want to see socket 775 duo to q6600 or q9550 with the same board ram gpu etc and the same clock speed.
I might get a q6600 soon I shall do some comparisons myself with the exact same clocks settings and hardware.

well i did do comparisons with my clan mates
didnt do any pie charts though or bar graphs
c2 duo are about same as phenoms clock for clock
so say mine would be about the same as a q6600 at same clock or round abouts.
like said my mates was tested at 3.2 at highest against mine at 3.2 phenom and frame rates were nearly double at same res . this would be nearly same with a q6600 clocked same or something like a q9550 at same speed.
would love to bench all clans stuff and record it properly but not very likely
but the difference is quite a good margin. we could always do our own tests.someone with a a dualcore and some with quads and set speed and post relitive benchmarks in here. will do some later if get chance of mine clocked down all way upto 3.7 . if someone else does there dualcore aswell. more that do it better it will be
I run this on a E6750@ 3.6Ghz and a 5870 everything high, 4AA 16AF 1920x1080.
In general chills at 50-60fps in multiplayer, although im sure you can get a lot more with a quad why would you want to? the game has such bad screen tearing at over 60fps (for my 60Hz monitor), you have to v sync it anyway.

Currently running [email protected] + ATI 5850. Regardless of ini settings (all low, all high) I get 30-40 fps according to fraps. This suggests that I am CPU limited.
Just picked up a Q9550 so will be doing that same single player level to compare over the weekend.

I think bad company is still slightly buggy. For example go into the game menu, check your taskmanager for cpu usage, the fourth cpu core is being used 100% and the other cores arent being used it doesnt make sense.

It is still a bit buggy, one minute i could stand in front of 3 people drilling me with bullets and i was stood there like i was made of steel. Now i get shot once and im dead. (how it should be)

Well it's nice to see a good debate
I have gone and bought a Q9550 i do hope it's a good upgrade, i now am convinced that Quad is the way forward even for just piece of mind.
One of you guys posted that thay had a great upgrade from Quad on there crossfire setup well hopefully that will be me next week
Regarding the multiplayer game i do find that i get killed lotts yet i feel i have put half a mag into them ?? then another time one or two shots and there dead ? maybe a ping issue.

One more thing i went back to direct 10 in .ini file all settings on medium and now seems to run smoother "WTF" yet before was buggy as hell so droped down to 9 "STRANGE" DX10 seems better for me now

Ps i do understand that the game is new and will need patching, why do PC games have to be codded by console LOVERS
the game developers developed the PC version just for PC. i dont think there is anything consolish about this game as they made the console and PC versions seperately. something about going back to their roots in PC gaming like with BF2...
