Waits for the first person to say 'Broken Britain'. Sigh.
What does it take to say "thanks".
Why do you expect people to say thank you?
Choke-slam tbh
Related question, what do you do if you're walking behind someone and they end up holding a few doors for you, do you say "thanks" for each one, or is one "thanks" enough?

Don't you hate it when you think about holding the door, check how far the person is behind you, stop to hold the door..
...only to realise they are further away than you thought, so you end up holding it for what seems like an age![]()
I should have either said "excuse me, I just held the door for you and you totally failed to acknowledge it" directly to her face, or said nothing at all.
Maybe you should think about why you're holding the door open for people in the first place, it's obviously not to grant them passage, as you gave that to this woman and still you weren't satisfied. Seems to me you're expecting a pat on the back so your so called courtesy is purely self-serving.
People don't have to thank you, you don't have to do anything for them, don't get so worked up grasshopper.![]()
