Labours Totalitarianism via the back door.

See link posted above. But thanks :)

I think it should be posted again in the next page should this thread reach page 2

I don't talk to my neighbours except to say hello if I see them on the way to my car, I also keep my curtains closed most of the time as the path to the other houses and flats goes right by the front window and I don't like people looking in while I'm slobbed out watching tv.

Am I a terrorist?

Only if you also pay by cash mate ... that's what the ad said. :p

I find it quite disturbing that I worry more about our own Govt. affecting me through restrictions, lack of personal privacy, and even the feeling of being made guilty of things even when I'm going about my own perfectly lawful day-to-day business, than I ever will about some bearded old man who lives in a cave in Afghanistan/Pakistan and his cronies (Allegedly).

Something is very, very wrong indeed.

The best thing about is we cannot win the so called "War on Terror", so the government have however many decades to steadily acclimatise everyone to the coming Orwellian state.

so basically this advert implies that if you are reported you will have to justify why you have your curtains closed or pay by cash just because someone reported you even if theres no evidence to suggest that you are doing some thing wrong. so you have to tell the authorities your personal buisness and routine? I would not report anyone for what is in that advert unless they were making threats or clear sighns that they are up to no good. this really does sound like history is going to repeat itself.

So nothing to do with the old Labour gov. then?

The campaign by the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo), broadcast on the TalkSport radio station, could upset those "who might identify with the behaviours referred to in the ad", the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled.

The brief message, billed as "brought to you by TalkSport and the anti-terrorist hotline",

Nope ... nothing to do with Labour ... I know the opening post mentions this as a stick to bash labour with, but I thought of it as a more fundamental problem with the advertising itself. Personally, I vote Liberal ... although they let me down in the last election. :(

I've been looking at everyone suspiciously since 9/11 and only the other day seen a Police officer buy a fish supper over the counter with cash, I reported it to his mate who was sitting in the squad car and it turns out the chip shop doesn't accept debit cards......... boy did I get a red neck.

Just goes to show that sometimes you can be wrong and not everyone is trying to blow things up.

You're a fool! They were obviously collabarating!

They infiltrated the police aswell!
Quick, tin foil hats at the ready!

Reminds me of Nazi propaganda

I see the advert and thats what it reminds me of along with films like 1984, V for vendetta and that one with christian bale, Equilibrium?

So if I keep my curtains closed during the day because I work nights that automatically makes me a terrorist according to these adverts?

I might need a double lined tin foil hat then lol.
