EDIT - Turns out he was arrested for fraud but with Carter Ruck behind him, I don't think justice will be served.

No... I'd say they are just about free range according to the EU Regulations, they are not barn hens that's for sure, but the one hen per 4m^2 might be pushing it slightly.
