Yowzers, bravo google, rly. Bleedin' ell. The images of my house are fairly recent (4-5 months ago by my reconing), and they've covered everywhere I can think of.

I live about 20 seconds from his house, he has more than just that ^^

Bluddy Opera 10.5 won't open links to street view, or it will but it just shows a black screen. No stalking for me tonight :/

Yeah a mate of mine used to work for him before he got sacked for having a party at his house

I mean, this is great and everything. But are there any practical uses other than 'Oooh look, my house!!!'??

If you're travelling somewhere, then it's handy sometimes to look around at where an address actually is for parking etc.

If you're buying a house then you can look at the local area without having to view it.

If you want to burgle a house then you can look for access points without loitering in the area. :D

Loads of uses.

I could think of some practical uses.

For instance, they have already covered most of the US, France, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Sweden and Australia, New Zealand areas.....

So...say you are looking to go on holiday and the brochure says that the place you will be staying at has "wonderful scenic views of the sea" or some such usual marketing jibber jabber. Well with this you could actually go there and check out the view to see if its really any good or not.

^^ I suppose so..it just seems a lot of effort for not much actual purpose.

edit - I could've been much more articulate there, but it's Friday and I want to go home.

I wonder how many shots google have actually taken around the world in making streetview. And Once it is all done, is it going to be a Forth Bridge job in that you get to the end and start again to keep it all up to date.

I used it recently as on holiday I would be walking a mile from a train station to a hotel without having been there before so using StreeView I could get an idea of what roads to turn down etc.

Also my band play gigs around the country and it can be useful to get an idea of parking around a venue and what the building looks like.

The new coat of paint on the forth bridge will last 18 years or something :D

Still can't believe it sneaked round uk privacy laws with that bloomin great tall mast on the car, if the camera was at 6ft I could understand.
