5870 vs 5970 bad company 2

Now, DICE has stated before that they have a separate team just for the PC version so that BC2 will be a true PC game and not just a port.

Yeah 5 year old game BF2 = 64 players, 2010 and BC2 = 32 players, don't make me laugh, it's a console game though and through, Dice are just playing the PC community for fools.

Have you played it in 1080p, 8xAA, 16xAF, HBAO on, VSync on and everything on High? It looks stunning!

You must be easily pleased then, 80% of the textures are low rez, then again what you expect from a console port.

I have had a 5870 and have a 5970 BE, If i was you just buy a 5870 and OC it. I have found this 5970 a waste of maney. Dont get much more out of it that my old 5870 overclocked.

If you think this way, If you get a 5870 its £250 towards two more screens :)

You mean 5870 at the last bit, right? But i agree, a 5870 and overclocking it is more beneficial, but, having a 5970 must feel good to some extent. I've been contemplating whether to get one or not, because my brother wants my 5850.

I have an 5870 and everything maxed with HBAO on (whatever that it?) and a res of 1920 * 1080.

It really does look awesome, but when things get super hectic in a localised area i.e. tank shells going off, nades, building and trees getting blown to pieces etc fps drops to 15 but quickly recovers.

What are you on about Raven? It looks ace on my 5850, which by the way manages a lovely 50-60fps no problems with all the lovelies on. So the trees are a little low res but generally it looks great.

I did mate ta.(fixed)

In some ways the 59 is loads better, I get 800FPS ON DODs games like that and around ??300 (game play) on MF2 97FPS Dirt 2. Vantage 27/28 GPU. BUT as for game to game you cant see any differance. Both are smooth as a babys bum. Get the 58 mate and spend the cash on some screens. Its just loads better with eyefinity. Its unreal. lol

Edit: O ye forgot to say. I got the XFX BE as for the OC they claim you can if its water cooled but on stock air you cant evan get close. my max on air is 860/1235 thats day to day game rock solid. 970/1275 for a quick bench.

I play with 1920 x 1200 @ 8xAA, 16xAF, HBAO on, VSync on and everything on High, DX 10. but the AA isn't 100%. i even done a search and others say the same. is this not the case with DX 11 then ?

If you look at the fences etc, i see a lot of jaggy lines. :( part from that, i think you looks good. :D

I have 5870 paired with

E8400 (3.8 Ghz)
Abit IX 38 quad mobo
4 gig ram

I have not checked frames, i check them only when i notice they are slow.
I have not noticed single twitch or slowdown, in any situation.

Game @ 1920 x 1200 (no vsync)
anti alias @ 8x
aniso @ 16x
Antialias mode set to super sample AA
all forced through CCC

All settings in game set to highest level + HBAO

As for game being badly optimized, ********.
Recommended spec is quad CPU, and i run C2D

It either does not really need quad, or it is fantastically optimized for C2D

Word is that game likes high CPU clock.

Looks great too.
