This isn't a conspiracy theory thread, just an expression of dismay at the state of reporting in this country.
The following articles have all been pushed out by Feinnes PR company, (although I doubt they mentioned about him falling asleep at the wheel) and include approximations of the following two lines
The male driver suffered leg injuries which were not thought to be life-threatening.

Eyewitnesses said a five-year-old child, who had also been travelling in the Nissan, clung onto firefighters after he was pulled out of the car.

The other driver involved in the crash works in my department and is currently in intensive care, he has had major surgery on his legs and chest and both lungs drained, he hasn't regained consciousness since the accident.

His youngest son who was the passenger in the car, is 11 not 5.

Members of his family and several members of my department have made comments on the various news articles to this effect, only two of which were displayed on the site (one on the Manchester Evening News and one on Sky News) and now both those have been removed.

I can't believe how much protection the press are offering Feinnes who caused the accident by swerving into oncoming traffic (although the reason for this is what's under question), and how much disrespect they're showing to the family of my colleague who is an innocent victim of this accident.

I have bad news for you: most stories in the papers are thinly-disguised press releases. If the PR hadn't come from Feinnes, then the police would have produced their own. The days when papers actually did anything like investigate are long gone: it's far too expensive compared to recycling puff pieces from z-list celebs, and (as in this case) self-serving justifications from erring semi-famous personages.

This. 100%. I've seen the inside of a few stories that have made various parts of the media and its almost as if they have a few story templates are known to sell copies, and then try to make the facts fit into this forumla.

The journalist profession is dying out.

Journalism is dead... with all the legal wrangling, etc. these days its just not worth digging for a good story, you'll just end up sued out your ass on top of that most can't be bothered to put in the effort any more.

I had purposely not included the Independent as I think they have reported based solely on the police report, still have the age wrong though.
