It's quite likely the Supersonic will be running 3.0 - remember HTC are a primary Google partner and if any phone sports a new Android OS it's going to be a high spec HTC model like this.

No one has announced yet what version number the next release ("Froyo" I think) is going to be, could be 2.2, 2.5, 3.0 or anything. The best you can say is that it'll probably be running the latest release when it comes out, but that's not really a surprise is it.
