Hi,

Recently got a 5450 graphics card. Currently connected up to a 19" Monitor at 1400x900 resolution via VGA.

However, I recently got a HDMI cable and have hooked it up to a 32" HD TV running resolution 1920x1080.

Is there anyway I can duplicate the displays so they appear the same on both PC screen and TV whilst maintaining their appropriate resolutions? Windows duplicates the displays but it also duplicates resolutions too!

Any advice?

Cheers,
Tom

there is, or at least should be a way to clone your desktop over both screens, it will be in the ATI display manager menu somewhere.

unfortunately i am currently unable to run through that with you as i do not have the resource available (im at work) but if no-one does it sooner, i should be able to run through it this evening some time.

If you don't want extra software then the CCC can do that, just open CCC in Basic mode, then select the display wizard...

Alternativly, you can install Ultramon (paid for) and it can do the same...

Cheers guys.

Would definately prefer to use the ATI Control Panel to do this.

I had a quick look around the settings last night but couldn't seem to see where I would configure it?

Any guides or walk-throughs would be greatly appreciated!

All I have managed to set up so far, via Windows Appearance and Settings is to get an extended desktop, however this is not practical as I keep losing the mouse onto the TV screen when I am working on my computer monitor.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Tom

i was under the impression that you couldnt run a HDMI connection at the same time as another due to something to do with the encryption?

Its running fine, as an extended desktop. Just wanted the screens duplicated at their appropriate resolutions?

no. you can only use clone/duplicate at the same resolution... otherwise it wouldn't really be duplicated would it?

if you're on Windows7, press Win+P and choose "Duplicate". it ought to automatically configure to the same resolution and output on both screens.
